In this full renovation in Barcelona, we completely transformed a small apartment located on Puríssima Concepció Street, in the Poble-sec neighborhood. This project is a clear example of the before and after of a renovation, showing how design and planning can turn a small flat into a comfortable, functional, and bright home.
Thanks to the work of our interior designers in Barcelona, the flat has gone from having several small, dark rooms to offering a spacious living area and two cozy bedrooms. A renewed home that combines practicality, design, and light — three essential elements in all our renovations in Barcelona.
The most significant change in this before and after renovation is the new layout. The old small rooms were removed to create a large living-dining area connected to an open kitchen. This new configuration creates a bright and open daytime space.
At the same time, two new bedrooms were created. One now occupies the former kitchen space, while the other remains in its original area. As a new feature, both bedrooms now have direct access to the gallery, improving comfort and ventilation.
For the new interior design, we opted for a contemporary style that enhances brightness and visual harmony. The worn-out white walls were replaced by a soft beige tone, and the old grey tiles were substituted with a parquet floor that adds warmth and continuity.
We also replaced all the doors, choosing modern white models to bring a fresh and consistent look throughout the home.
As part of this full renovation, the kitchen completely changed location. Previously, it was an isolated room in need of urgent renovation. Now it forms part of the main living area, arranged in an L-shape layout.
It offers generous storage through large cabinets and ample countertop space. The kitchen is fully equipped with integrated appliances: oven, microwave, refrigerator, and induction cooktop.
The result is a modern, functional kitchen perfectly connected to the living area — a key transformation in this before and after renovation.
The bathroom was also created from scratch. Previously located in the gallery, it was outside the main living area and only accessible through the kitchen. Now it is integrated into the home, accessible from the living space through a practical sliding door.
We applied a fresh and relaxing design, with neutral-colored tiles and a soft-finish floor. The bathroom includes a designer sink, a wall-hung toilet with bidet function, and a shower tray enclosed by a glass screen.
The new golden tapware stands out, adding an elegant and contemporary touch. This space perfectly captures the spirit of the project: functionality and style in harmony.
